Head of Delo Group Shishkaryov wants to head TransContainer board

MOSCOW, Jan 29 (PRIME) -- Sergei Shishkaryov, head of Delo Group, which acquired a 50% plus two shares stake in container operator TransContainer, will be nominated to the board of directors of TransContainer and plans to become the chairman, he told reporters on Wednesday.

“Yes, of course, I will be the chairman,” Shishkaryov said. He added that Delo Group wanted to appoint six representatives to the board of directors of TransContainer but the amount can grow as Delo Group announced a buyout. “So, we are thinking about 11 or more, this is a liberal forecast.”

Delo Group closed the 60.3 billion ruble purchase from Russian Railways in mid-December 2019. A meeting of the shareholders to vote for the board of directors is scheduled for March 26, 2020.

Delo Group sees participation of Russian Railways’ representatives in the board of directors of TransContainer useful but will not insist on it. “I will meet with (CEO of Russian Railways) Oleg Valentinovich (Belozyorov). We will not insist on it. The position is clear, yes, they do not want to single out somebody among the equals but nevertheless we think that to maintain the level of cooperation this would be useful.”

The official said that Delo Group can nominate former TransContainer CEO Pyotr Baskakov to the board of directors but is not considering appointing him as the CEO.
